La meg vise deg min favorittmåte å bli trygg foran kameraet på!

Let me show you my favorite way to become confident in front of the camera!

Often, when I photograph, I encounter the same questions, challenges, and insecurities about being photographed. This applies not only in professional settings, but also when you need to be visible on screen – whether in connection with work, launching your own business, or when you want to take pictures with your children and family.

What is camera anxiety?

Have you ever felt that sneaky voice that overanalyzes every little detail? A voice that says everything has to be perfect? And then we forget a little that we are good enough just the way we are. That authenticity is more important than perfectionism. You are not alone. Camera anxiety is a reality for many, but it doesn’t have to hold you back! Because you are meant for something more. You are meant to launch your business, to embrace every moment with your family, to look back on the photos and feel joy. You are meant to be confident and secure – whether it’s on a live broadcast or in an important video meeting.

The fear of the camera can make such situations difficult, and in the worst case, prevent you from doing what you really want. So what exactly is this fear?

Fear is often about insecurity. We compare ourselves to others, worry about what people think, and think we have to be perfect to be worth seeing. But damn, it's such a shame that we forget the real point: It's your unique voice, your knowledge, and your genuine expression that truly connects with others.

But can you break free from camera anxiety?

YES! Of course!

I have extensive experience as a physiotherapist and yoga instructor and have worked with many people with high stress levels and sky-high cortisol levels. It's impossible to feel free and creative when we're racing from one thing to another and stuck in a spiral of negativity. But if you really want change, there are simple techniques and steps you can take to go from insecure to unstoppable in front of the camera!

Overcome stage fright - step by step

Reflect on your fear. When does it appear? What happens in your body? It is difficult to reflect on this when we are stressed, which is why it is important that the nervous system is in balance. And yes, I know – it is not easy in today's society. We are constantly triggered by social media, bad news and other stressors. But once we become aware of it, we can take control.

A simple technique is the 4-4-4-4 breathing: Breathe in for a count of four, hold your breath for four seconds, breathe out for four seconds, and hold your breath out for four seconds. Do this before important situations in your daily life, not just in front of the camera. This technique is incredibly powerful and I do it myself almost daily!

The next step is to reframe your thoughts. Instead of being insecure, negative, and self-critical, let your inner voice be supportive, positive, and encouraging. Because there is so much within you that is valuable!

Finally: Create your own mantra. A mantra that is uplifting and reminds you of what your truth really is.

When you start using these techniques, you will notice a change. When fear lets go and confidence takes over, freedom comes. The freedom to no longer see the camera as an enemy, but as a tool to express your knowledge, power, and truth.
